Ferries: there has been a change to the ferry system: there is a new speed boat called “Cat Coco”, which takes an hour between Praslin and Mahé. If you want to go from Praslin to La Digue, you have to take a small boat.

Beau Vallon, Bel Ombre – Mahé: if you stay here and have to be at the airport between 8-9am, it’s better to take a taxi because the buses are completely full in the morning – and with luggage, you can’t get in.

It is very wise to book ahead accommodation for Praslin and La Digue at the Tourist Information office in Victoria. The guesthouses accept Seychelles rupees only if you show them the exchange receipt; otherwise, you have to pay in foreign currency.

La Digue: never go for dinner later than 8pm, as most places close around 9pm. If you don’t want to go out in the evening, it is wise to take half-board at your guesthouse or hotel.
